Freelance Design as Hedline Design.  Part-time Pre press and web design at Oakridge Printing

Pre press print design and troubleshooting for various clients throughout the south bay area.  Creation of labels, business marketing materials, direct mail campaigns, email blasts, website design and editing.  Creation of motion graphics in After Effects, Premiere Pro and Flash.

May 2009 – November 2013

Pre Press Tech./Advertising and Layout Designer at Mainstreet Media and Book Production Designer, BestOf, LLC - Design and layout of advertisements for range of clients, production/troubleshooting of all files for proofs, pre-press, and 4 color pre-press set-up and proofs for files submitted from advertisers. Photo editing for print. Creating banners for website and mobile applications. These files were printed on digital and offset printers.Layout/design of hard cover custom books for the elite professional athlete. Design of training templates for junior designers, and graphics/production advisor to management. Edit sports photos for publications. Also doing motion graphics/web projects during off hours.

January – April 2009

Contract Document Control/Graphics Specialist, Northrop Grumman - Revision/layout of technical documents and graphics, ECOs, policies & procedures, forms and more. Created PowerPoint presentations, maintained website, and designed product video. Also freelance motion/web graphics for select clients. These files were printed on digital printers.

November 2002 – December 2008

Graphics Designer / Pre-Press Technician, Santa Barbara News-Press/Commercial Printer - Varied responsibilities included design and layout of newspaper and advertisements for range of clients, production/troubleshooting of all files for proofs, pre-press, and 4 color pre-press set-up and proofs for files submitted from advertisers. Photo editing for print. Proficient with image setters and direct to plate files. Extensive interaction and assistance with sales reps and advertisers, training of junior designers. These files were printed on digital and offset printers. August – November 2002Marketing Assistant for various firms, including: Federal Buyers Guide and Indigo Ink.Varied graphic design functions and color correction for catalog production and large format printing. These files were printed on digital and offset printers.

January-August 2002

Graphic Designer/Pre Press technician, Federal Buyers Guide - Responsible for design and layout of national catalog, advertisements, inter-office documents and marketing materials and Powerpoint presentations. Also responsible for conversion of Mac and PC files for page layout and pre-press; scheduling/troubleshooting of files submitted to printing companies; set-up of postscript and Pdf files according to printer specifications; updating/maintenance of corporate website. Designed freelance motion/web graphics in my off hours for clients.

1999-2002

Art Director / Production Manager, Somerset Publishers - Substantial responsibilities involved design/layout and desktop publishing of multiple publications, including reference books, encyclopedias, guide books and advertising/promotional materials; scheduling of multiple publication production with printing companies and Service Bureaus; distillation of Pdf files according to specifications of printer or Service Bureau. Photo editing for publications. Also supervised small staff and designed/maintained several company websites. Designed freelance motion and web graphics in my off hours.

1998-1999

Graphic Designer – Guitar Center Corporate Office - Responsible for layout / design of monthly catalog, in-store POP displays, photo editing, magazine, newspaper ads et al. Photographed or scanned new products for print ads. Maintained graphics database and prepared graphics for website.
